この日は、1923年4月17日にアメリカの探検家で古生物学者の
ロイ・チャップマン・アンドリュース が
ゴビ砂漠で恐竜の卵の化石を発見したことに由来しています。
この発見は、当時としては画期的でした。
それまで「恐竜はどうやって増えるのか？」がはっきり分かっていなかった中で、
恐竜が卵を産む生き物だったという決定的な証拠になったんです。
This day traces back to April 17, 1923, when American explorer and paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews discovered fossilized dinosaur eggs in the Gobi Desert.
This discovery was groundbreaking for its time. Up until then, it wasn’t well understood how dinosaurs reproduced — and this find became definitive proof that dinosaurs were egg-laying creatures.

On a remote island off the coast of Costa Rica, wealthy entrepreneur John Hammond has built the facility of his dreams — a theme park called “Jurassic Park,” where real dinosaurs have been brought back to life using dinosaur DNA preserved in amber.
Invited for a pre-opening safety review are paleontologist Dr. Grant, paleobotanist Dr. Sattler, and mathematician Dr. Malcolm. Hammond’s grandchildren join the group, and a dreamlike tour of the facility begins.
But then — the facility’s security systems suddenly shut down. The dinosaurs break free from their enclosures and begin hunting the defenseless humans. Can they escape the island alive…?

■ ロスト・ワールド／ジュラシック・パーク
続編の冒険
→ スケールとアクションは強化。ただし前作の完成度には及ばず、ストーリーはやや散漫。
■ ジュラシック・パークIII
新たな島の危機
→ テンポは良いが短く軽め。スリル重視で、物語の深みはシリーズ中でも薄い。
■ ジュラシック・ワールド
遺伝子改変恐竜
→ 現代的リブートとして成功。テーマパーク要素の復活と新恐竜でエンタメ性は高い。
■ ジュラシック・ワールド／炎の王国
火山噴火の脅威
→ 前半の災害パニックは迫力あり。後半はホラー寄りで賛否が分かれる展開。
■ ジュラシック・ワールド／ドミニオン
巨大昆虫の謎
→ シリーズ総決算だが、恐竜より別要素（昆虫など）に焦点が分散し、評価はやや低め。
The Jurassic Park Series
※ Fair warning — this is a pretty biased review from yours truly.
■ Jurassic Park Dinosaur theme park → Revolutionary visuals and tension. Exceptionally well-balanced between entertainment and scientific themes. Often considered the best in the series.
■ The Lost World: Jurassic Park A sequel adventure → Scale and action are ramped up. However, it doesn’t quite reach the standard set by the first film, and the story feels somewhat scattered.
■ Jurassic Park III A new island crisis → Good pacing but short and lightweight. Focuses on thrills, with less narrative depth than the rest of the series.
■ Jurassic World Genetically engineered dinosaurs → A successful modern reboot. High entertainment value thanks to the return of the theme park concept and a new dinosaur.
■ Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom The threat of a volcanic eruption → The first half delivers intense disaster-movie energy. The second half leans more toward horror — reactions are divided.
■ Jurassic World: Dominion The mystery of giant insects → Meant to be the grand finale of the series, but the focus drifts away from dinosaurs toward other elements (like insects), resulting in a somewhat lower overall reception.
今では、AIの進化で色んな映像が作れるが、当時は本当に大変な思いをして作り上げられた映画たち。
レビューではあまり良い感じには書けなかったけど、どの作品も見応えはあります。
