4月29日は「昭和の日」。元々は昭和天皇の誕生日として祝日に制定された日です。一時期「みどりの日」と呼ばれていた時期もありましたが、2007年の改正祝日法により現在の「昭和の日」に。激動の時代を経て復興を成し遂げた昭和時代を振り返り、国の未来を考えることを趣旨とした祝日です。
April 29th is “Showa Day.” It was originally established as a national holiday to commemorate the birthday of Emperor Showa. For a period, it was known as “Greenery Day,” but following the revision of the National Holidays Act in 2007, it became the “Showa Day” we know today. 2026 marks exactly 100 years since the first year of Showa (1926). This April 29th, a “Showa Centennial Ceremony” will be held at the Nippon Budokan. At this landmark anniversary, let’s take a fresh look at the Showa era — a time that witnessed postwar reconstruction, rapid economic growth, the bubble economy, and the Lost Three Decades, with all its lights and shadows. It may be the perfect opportunity to sit down with grandparents and parents and hear stories from “those days.”

AIが進化し、何でも頼めば形にしてくれる便利な時代になりました。
それと比べれば、何をするにも不便なことばかりだった昭和。
※それでも産業革命が起きだいぶ便利な時代と言われていたわけですが。
この不便を便利にしたいという思いが今日を作っている。
なので、未来ではAIの産業革命が起きていると言われる令和ですら本当に不便な時代だったよねと言われる時代が来るかもしれませんね。

AI has evolved to the point where you can ask it anything and it will take shape for you — we truly live in a convenient age.
Compared to that, the Showa era was full of inconveniences in almost everything you tried to do. (Though of course, the Industrial Revolution had already taken place, making it far more convenient than previous eras.)
It was that very desire — to turn inconvenience into convenience — that built the world we live in today.
So perhaps someday, even the Reiwa era — now said to be on the verge of an AI industrial revolution — will be looked back on as a time that was genuinely inconvenient.
