Nikko Toshogu is a historic shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, and its opulent decorations are truly overwhelming. 日光東照宮へのアクセスと駐車場 Access and Parking for Nikko Toshogu Shrine
日光東照宮周辺には複数の駐車場がありますが、私のおすすめは、二荒山神社→日光東照宮のルートです。二荒山神社は良縁と健康を祈願できる世界遺産の場所です。残念ながら建物内は同伴で立ち入ることは出来ませんが、境内はリードでもOKです。東照宮でもそうですが、やはり世界遺産でもあるので排泄物で汚すことのないようにマナーベルト等の配慮は必須です。因みに駐車場料金は７００円です。シーズンによっても変わるらしいので事前にチェックすることをお勧めします。
There are several parking lots around Nikko Toshogu Shrine, but I recommend the route that goes from Futarasan Jinja Shrine to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Futarasan Jinja is a World Heritage site where you can pray for good relationships and health. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside the buildings, but they are welcome on a leash within the grounds. As is the case at Toshogu, since this is a World Heritage site, it is essential to take precautions such as using a doggie diaper (manner belt) to ensure the area is not soiled by pet waste.
参拝時の注意点 Notes on Visiting
日光東照宮の敷地内には、犬を連れて入れる場所と入れない場所があります。基本的に、建物の中への犬の立ち入りは禁止されています。リードをしっかりと持ち、他の参拝者の迷惑にならないよう注意しましょう。
- リードは必須：必ずリードを着用し、短く持ちましょう。
- 排泄物の処理：マナー袋を携帯し、排泄物は必ず持ち帰りましょう。
- 水分補給：特に夏場は、愛犬の熱中症対策としてこまめな水分補給を忘れずに。
Within the grounds of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, there are areas where dogs are allowed and areas where they are not. Generally, dogs are prohibited from entering the buildings. Be sure to keep your dog securely leashed and be mindful not to inconvenience other visitors.

- Waste disposal: Carry waste bags and always take any excrement home with you.
- Hydration: Especially in the summer, remember to frequently give your dog water to prevent heatstroke.

表参道から鳥居へ ～From Omotesando to the Torii Gate
参道を歩き始めると、厳かな雰囲気に包まれます。大きな石鳥居をくぐり、歴史の重みを感じながら進みます。愛犬も、普段とは違う雰囲気に少し興奮しているかもしれませんね。
As you begin walking the path, you will be enveloped in a solemn atmosphere. Pass through the large stone torii (shrine gate) and feel the weight of history as you proceed. Your dog might also be a little excited by the unusual atmosphere.
五重塔 ～Five-Story Pagoda (Goju-no-To)
表参道を進むと、美しい五重塔が見えてきます。この塔もまた、見事な彫刻が施されており、その美しさには目を奪われます。愛犬と一緒に写真を撮るのも良い思い出になりますよ。
Proceeding along the main path (Omotesando), you will see the beautiful Five-Story Pagoda. This tower also features magnificent carvings, and its beauty is breathtaking. Taking a picture with your dog here will make for a great memory.
神厩舎と三猿 ～Sacred Stable (Shinkyusha) and the Three Monkeys
有名な「見ざる・言わざる・聞かざる」の三猿がいる神厩舎は、外からであれば愛犬と一緒に見ることができます。猿たちの愛らしい姿に、思わず笑みがこぼれます。
The Sacred Stable, home to the famous Three Monkeys of “See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil,” can be viewed with your dog from the outside. The adorable sight of the monkeys will surely bring a smile to your face.
陽明門 ～Yomeimon Gate
日光東照宮のシンボルとも言える陽明門は、一日中見ていても飽きないことから「日暮門」とも呼ばれます。500を超える彫刻が施されたその姿は圧巻の一言です。愛犬と記念撮影をするなら、この場所が一番おすすめです！
The Yomeimon Gate, a symbol of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, is so stunning that people say they could look at it all day without getting bored, earning it the nickname “Twilight Gate” (Higurashi-mon). Its appearance, adorned with over 500 carvings, is simply spectacular. This is the best spot for a commemorative photo with your dog!
